You should learn a few basics of programming
This is a topic I feel passionately about.
Learning how to program unlocks your brain to thinking in a very systematic and linear way.
My article for KSL, "Why you should learn to program, and how to do it" lists three reasons to learn to program, and three tools for learning.

Do some people still think Macs don't get malware?
Spoiler alert: they can get infected.
Debunking the 'Macs don't get viruses' myth.
Although I will say they have a much, much smaller chance of being infected.

Everyday tech annoyances
The best part about putting this article together was asking so many people what annoyances they experience from the technology they use.
It's here on KSL.com.

5 ways PCs are better than Macs
In follow-up to 5 reasons Macs are better than PCs, I present to you 5 reasons PCs are better than Macs.
I was amazed last week to see that KSL readers are split 50, 50 on their preference of operating system. The reader poll asking "Are you a Mac or PC" came in with 51% prefer Mac and 49% PC.
And may I just say that Mac users are much nicer than PC users? With both of these articles I have gotten a few comments via email, blog comments, KSL comments or tweets with why I'm wrong. Let me say it again, Mac users are so much nicer!
But I always have to laugh looking through the KSL comments. So many people don't understand that different people can value something more or less than you do. Just because you like one thing doesn't mean everyone does.
Hopefully people can, between the two articles, see that each platform has its own strong points.

What a wonderful picture
So the article I wrote this time is about getting in shape. 5 apps to get (and stay) in shape - check it out. I mention that you might want to get an entertainment app for when you're on a treadmill. And the picture they chose to represent the entire article is, of course, the Crackle app with Kramer (from Seinfeld) right front and center.
A bit misleading, don't you think?
Oh, and I also happen to reference Jerry Seinfeld in the article.

Sorry for my lack of posts
Most of my writing time goes into a weekly column I started with a local news agency, KSL.
I'll start posting links to my articles here. Here's what I've done so far:
Top 5 apps to beat bad weather
5 ways your smartphone can make your life easier
9 options for cutting cable and saving money
I hope you enjoy!

Mouse dust
I consistently get into debating with myself about those anti-friction pads they have on the bottom of mice.
Does the pad collect dirt from the table I use it on?
Or does the pad leave dirt on the table, making it sticky?
Today I could hardly click anything - the mouse was sticking to the table and jumping all over the place.

Apple iPhone screens
Hmmmm.....
I see that Apple has reduced it's orders for iPhone 5 (Gorilla Glass 2) screens, and I see that Gorilla Glass is ready to manufacture Gorilla Glass 3.
I wonder what our takeaway should be?
